Men in shorts

Congratulations to Mr Roger Federer for winning his 5th straight US Open, which makes him just one cup shy of the legendary Pete Sampras record of 14. Federer was back to his usual best, handing his final opponent, Andy Murray, a devastating performance with 6-2 7-5 6-2. The match itself showed what Fed-Ex is all about: precise timing, sublime touch, flawless tennis.

To me, personally, he's still the best and with this recent win, he might just be number 1 back sooner rather than later. This is all bittersweet for him as he has had endured a very hard year. He crashed out of the Olympics to a rather lower opponent in the quarters, aggravating further his reputation as the number one tennis player. And then a week later, a Spanish clay-conqueror, with big biceps, took over his reign as the number one.

So its no suprise that immediately after Murray screwed a backhand to hand the cup to him, he rolled on the ground, fist clutched, emotionally knowing in his mind that he is still the best. And just like champions like him always does, they get up after a setback. And this win is just what Roger needs.

Don't get me wrong though. I still loveeeeeeeee Rafa Nadal. But its always interesting to see 2 great men battling for a title, which can only be good the competition and viewers.

Ah, shit. I crapped about sports again. I better stop de. Nites! Promise will update things in the future. A more general post. I swear. =D
